- SUB MISS EVE -

In this duet I explored the tension between formal and informal, in a sequence of performative acts that include different materials from the Larger Piece: “Delight”. Here, Asaf and Elister are constantly communicating with the audience in a light and inviting manner of speech, talking about their relations to the work and to each other and placing the emphasis on the situation of performing. Allowing themselves and audience to shift between the coded mannerisms of the rules assumed by entering the Theater and its spectacle and virtuoso possibilities.
Inspired by Anne Carson’s text “The gender of Sound” from her book “Glass, Ivory & God”. In which Carson is unfolding the baggage of voice, femininity and monstrosity through different examples of ancient Greek. Underlining the roots of perceptions of femininity as the gender that blubbers, gossips, screams and whines, and that is perceived as incoherent and confused. SYB MISS EVE is a sub chapter of the larger work “Delight”
performed by: Asaf Aharonson and Elister Wots.
Performed at “The Carrierbag” festival in Copenhagen 2019.
